Park Ave Temp in 2010

pat 2010, originally uploaded by thismeik.

The End of Meik! brings a new beginning.
We're not sure what direction this will take.
Basically I was getting pretty boring, complaining too much and lame.
So time dissolve some of the past and start over.
If you want the full story just talk to me after 3-4 Guinnesses!

So you can check out ParkAveTemp.tumblr.com for now.
I might buy the domain.
If not we have a couple other ideas...
Stay tuned!

A Meik! Hiatus

A Meik! Hiatus, originally uploaded by thismeik.

See ya when we see ya.
We might be back sooner than you think.
But who knows?
Things are changing for sure.

Split Meik!

So this is what it is at the moment.
Split in half.
I think Meik! might be away a little.
In order to figure out job stuff and what not.
I'm almost 29 and I have some decisions I need to make.
We'll be happy and fun again soon.
For all we know this could be a day or two and then we get a rad TV show or magazine gig and the world is just bubbles.
You'll know when it gets good.
We just don't wanna bum you out in the chaos.

Post No: Snow Coverered and Meek

Snow Covered and Meek
By Meik!

When this snow falls you are not there.
The train stops nowhere near this station.
I stare at the street signs but my navigation is distant.
The script has been completely changed.

When you look at the sky do you see the same thing.
Does the wine, whiskey, or beer taste different to you ever.
Does a watch tell you different stories during daylight hours.
Where did you depart from the point at which we were on the same platform.

Was there a trade or some sort of clause activated.
Did there become a crack in the ground separates but is completely unseen.
How do we cross borders, barriers and state lines which make us farther away.
Transfering distances to become periods of isolation.

When brushes are inactive I'm not being creative.
There are no stains on the exterior of red, black and white.
But somehow they may still be buried on the inside.
A bundle of feathers that may forever be buried and completely unseen.

Do oils really stain? Are they part of the skin or the soul.
What can wash that out? Water, soap, terpentine or buttons that delete.
Otherwise these lies cover empty thoughts or reasons to even try.
Contemplating resignation from situations of joy cannot be relied upon.

How can it be kept together. Stormy just as the howling winds of this weather.
The adhesives only stay together if combined in warm water.
You have to wait until spring if you want dig a hole and fill it with cement.
Otherwise the concrete and foundation will fall apart.
A crack will develop from deep inside during the fluxations.
That should call for additional support from external divisions.
Constant supervision with calculated and precise execution.
But with his period goes the chances of closings and liquidation.
In that case things thought to reliable completely dissolve and cannot be used.
To a point where things are broken, rusted and not stable.
This shall create pauses to which periods of light can be covered out...
Opaque in style there is no way to predict a solution.
But to climb away and never look back at the failures or regets.

The wind stops for now but there are remnants on the ground.
For this very moment I have lost my connection to the mobile world.
As the snow mounds have phyically covered my phone.
I fall to ground and try dig deeper to regain my access.
The bit is completely cover but able to be fixed.

Does this only work for the electronic devices.
How can I fix the ones that disseapper, reject, completely change, or have manuals unable to be explained...
Where are the time machines, do over buttons and all of the above choices.
How does the snow make everything clear and yet completely clouded.

This winter takes hold.
It may failure different than those before that have past.
It's colder both phyically and dimentionally.
Where is the light, the love and the friendship.
Frozen, Frosted, Forged and Fake...
Forgotten is the winter...
This year, this is weak and meek...

How was your weekend? Hibernation Special

How was your weekend?
Mine involved bevy, snow, sports and sleeping.
Had tons of plans and photo ideas that got killed by the weather.
Which was kinda good since I needed some downtime to recharge.
Friday I tried to Brave the elements with Supreme and Scarf.

Glasses are confirmed and ordered since my eyes are going haywire.
I think I've become right eye dominant.
Saturday was basically watch soccer.
Run out to the store to get a cheap cold weather jacket.
I ripped my Zoo York bubble jacket on a greenie in my messenger bag.
That'll do for now.
Home in enought time to run down the street for the king of beers.

Sunday crawl out of bed, layer up and head to Giants Stadium.
Grab a plastic shoprite bag fill with beers and add snow

Ice, snow, cold weather, beers and JETS fans.

It was a bit frosty.
The games was fun, snow was being tossed and fights in the crowd
I saw 3 rows just throwing punches at each other like crazy.
First ushers, then security and finally The State Troopers.
Their cold weather jackets remind me of Demolition Man
In the future all restaurants are Taco Bell.
If you see State Troopers come to your seat your in trouble.
And if you keep acting ridiculous it's not good.
I'm pretty sure jail or a chokehold are in your future.
Someone around us may have been yelling Taser, Taser him!
Shhhhh, I don't know who it was....Hehehehe.
But other than that leaving the stadium was a bit of chaos with all the fences.
Having areas zoned off gave a very creepy sort of "CAMP" vibe if you know what I mean
But we finally escaped and after defrosting, slept til an hour ago.
A couple days of work this week before the Holidays go in to full gear...
That's all for now, let's try to warm up a little bit.

It's a Cookie but there's wine (410 Holiday Party 2009 Preview)

410 Holiday Pary 2009, originally uploaded by thismeik.

I was messing around and snapped it.
Those long cookies are deadly.
Like you can eat one and then seconds later be 50 deep.
I was messing around like an 80's mom with a V-Slim and Bartles.
Hahahaha....Hilarity...More to come as we avoid the snow.

I'm in a weird place right now

I'm in a weird place right now, originally uploaded by thismeik.

This photo is from just over a year ago.
Sitting in a hotel room in Dublin after 2 hours of sleep.
Back then this camera was working perfectly.
I had just wrapped publishing on a model project of workin everyday.
Spending 4 months documenting, producing and being with friends.
A few days of sleep then a week of chaos on the emerald isle.
Well then I came back from all that and the slate was cleared.
Most of what I had started to fade, wither and just dissolve.
Partnerships and friends began to stress, strain or unravel.
The company locked it's doors, gigs slowed down and this camera basically started to fall apart.
At the moment it's so fragile I'm afraid to take it outside.
The focus screen is completely messes and it's holder.
Well at least for the Pentax I can send it back for repairs.
Which in a ways is crazy because my left eye is outta focus.
I'm gonna try to get that fixed on friday at the eye doctor.
Need some nikon contacts or glasses. Hmmm...
But how much of that is even permanent.
I switched to Nikon bodies after issues and dealing with pentax.
Flashes randomly breaking apart and burning out.
But that's a long way to go in getting new lenses
My Pentax I'm using is basically retired now, worn down.
Kinda like how I'm at the moment...
So I'm gonna try writing and painting more.
I need to be creative in some outlet even if there's no audience
It just weird to feel sometimes that you completely drifted away.
Like I don't know where I am and what I'm doing.
Career, fun, goals, happiness or adventures.
What's my plan or path and why am I stagnant.
I should be telling tales or stories of those I admire.
Rather than figuring out how my car derailed.
It's the timing, bad luck and the economy.
But I need to try, to work and to fight....
This is a weird rut but it's a space I need to depart...
I've still got time to figure this out before I go completely gray.

Slow Slow by Meik!

Slow Slow by Meik!, originally uploaded by thismeik.

I left my soul in Dublin.
Lost my wallet it San Diego.
This city keeps my soul.
But tomorrow at night can we go?
Let's set sail til we fail.

I lost it all at a game of cards.
Tried to chase her down the line.
My past is what she discards.
Maybe she know madeline.
Oh not this winter

In spring time she gets cheers!
The absence might be a bad decision.
Oh the conquest is foiled by beers!
My tuning needs way more precision

I keep looking at the skyline.
No more clouds in this latenight abyss.
We shared one last glass of wine.
It's a shame to regret what we miss.

If there's things you don't know about me.
Some lines I need to keep cloudy.
A friend is on this train.
I just need to ride out the pain.

Can we stay on the cold plains?
The numbness hides our pains.
Will it matter if the path is unclear?
Searching for what I lost to reappear.

Panic don't make a good decision.
It only leads you to regret.
Hope is useless without precision.
I'm pretty familiar with that safety net.

The shoes I take photos of outside were flipped over & one was missing.
More pipes and barrels on that site.
A memory changed by motion.
I always feel like I'm missing out on something and as the years get later the list keeps piling up.
The need to expand & escape isolation...

BNE NYC Gallery Show: Part 1 The Art Itself

BNE NYC Gallery Show, originally uploaded by thismeik.

Hey there did you make it out to the BNE show last week.
If you did it was lovely meeting you and cheers to all.
I love nights like that where I can see art and a big party goes on.
Some of my friends were working and spinning tunes...
We may have seen mr. santos but you have to wait for that photo.
In part one of this event we cover the main reason, the art.
A mixture of large and small pieces.
Script, abreviations, graffiti and tag variations.
A mixture of ideas with the same initiative.
You can't go wrong working in two tone.
Thanks to Mother NYC and AnimalNewYork...

This was just funny.
Draft apparently disappears really quick.
Just like a kegger back in college.
I have a theory it's probably even quicker at art shows.
This crew was very proper with the retreval and switchover.
